Let me get this straight. You illegally break into the Capitol Building, while trashing it and threatening elected officials, and you get pardoned.
You touch a piece of paint damaged during an ill-thought-out repair job on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and you can be charged with misdemeanor destruction of government property?

Right now there are a zillion opinions about what went wrong with the Reflecting Pool that caused the massive algae bloom: the pool was sealed, the sealant wasn’t primed correctly, the paint was painted correctly, the water was from the Potomac River, too much hydrogen peroxide, not enough hydrogen peroxide, and on and on.
In the age of the internet, everyone’s an expert.
What we know for sure is, a no-bid contract was issued to a company previously used by president donald j. felon* for one of his Virginia properties to renovate and paint the Reflecting Pool and and a second no-bid contract to install a filtration system in the pool was given to the owner of a company who donated extensively to the president’s campaign and associated groups.
Ironically, the company’s name is Green Water Solutions, so it sounds as if we got what we paid for.
And judging from the press photos and stories and social media, it doesn’t take a leap of faith to come to the conclusion that both companies massively failed at what they were supposed to do.
After it was announced the project was completed on June 6, algae growth quickly came back, and after hydrogen peroxide was poured into the pool, the blue lining began peeling off.
Who is the convicted felon and adjudicated rapist blaming for the pool resurfacing failure and algae growth?
“President Trump is now suggesting the issues at the Reflecting Pool are the work of vandals, posting on Truth Social that work will begin immediately to fix what ‘deranged, sick people’ have done,” Fox 5 DC reported. “U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro has also alluded to something more than shoddy work being involved.”
While there were reports of multiple arrests made on Saturday, the U.S. Park Police has not responded to Fox 5 DC as to how many arrests were made and what the charges were.
One arrest made on Friday was that of three-time Olympian David Hearn who was riding his bicycle by the pool and stopped to see the damage himself, ABC News reported.
He said he saw a piece of the blue coating that was still attached to the bottom of the pool and reached out to touch it.
Hearn said a National Park Service employee told him to stop touching it and he walked back to his bicycle where a National Guardsman said the park police wanted to talk to him.
“I had no idea I was about to be arrested,” he told ABC News. “They didn’t say they were charging me, but they did start to handcuff me. They did not ever read me my rights.”
Hearn also said he wasn’t allowed to make a phone call while he was being held for five hours, nor did they detail what charges would be made against him. He is set to appear in court July 9.
Throw in a dead baby duckling — the poor thing was found floating in the algae-fouled waters, though the cause of its death is as yet unknown — and you have the consummate metaphor for the administration of a demented authoritarian known for never taking responsibility and whose minions are unwilling to point out that he has erred.
Someone who doesn’t much care for the rule of law and has been told by a corrupt Supreme Court that he can do no wrong as long as its official government business will authorize — indeed, encourage — the arrest of “vandals” to cover up his own failings.
Surely, coming on the heels of a botched effort to bring about the unconditional surrender of Iran — after spending billions of taxpayer dollars — the elderly golfer’s Cabinet and GOPmaga leadership can see that the president doesn’t know what he is doing.
If it were a Democratic president who had caused all this havoc and failed so miserably, there were be no question of bringing up impeachment, much less invoking the 25th amendment.
The founding fathers never dreamed that a president so corrupt and incompetent would end up being continually supported under any circumstance by both houses of Congress and the Supreme Court.

Interesting that in some countries bad ineffective leaders can be gotten rid of.

* I’m following what the wannabe king declared on social media that he will only refer to the Supreme Court in lowercase because he has a complete lack of respect for them after the illegal tariffs ruling.
