There is no doubt that the administration of president donald j. felon* will say or do anything to make it harder for Americans to vote.
His Department of InJustice has sued 30 states and the District of Columbia for detailed voter information, such as date of birth, driver’s license numbers and partial Social Security numbers, and has lost all of those cases in court so far, PBS News reported.
California is being threatened with possible legal action if the state doesn’t turn over the names of noncitizens who are believed to have gotten mail ballots for the midterms.

The state’s Secretary of State Shirley Weber was sent a list of names the federal government thinks are likely noncitizens in Los Angeles County who were sent ballots for the Nov. 3 election. The feds warned that legal action may follow if the state doesn’t meet a 48-hour deadline to review the list of names.
California sends ballots by mail to all registered voters, by the way.
PBS News said the administration “has made the hunt for noncitizen voters a priority this year, even though the problem is exceptionally rare.
The DOJ has charged less than 100 people with various election misconduct in 2026, including 50 who allegedly voted as noncitizens. During the 2024 presidential election, there were more than 227 million registered voters in the United States, to put things in perspective.
In July, the government claimed Nevada had 1,500 noncitizen voters on its voter rolls, but after they were identified to the state, “the actual registered noncitizens turned out to be zero.”
Oops.
In the midst of this administration’s spreading of chaos, is it no surprise that the next No Kings rallies taking place Saturday in all 50 states have morphed into a get-out-the-vote movement, according to Fast Company.
More than 2,500 events are being planned, ranging from protests to block parties and cookouts, “with a focus on ensuring free and fair elections in November.”
“No Kings: Vote Early” is the theme, with early voting already happening in some states.
According to the No Kings website, “Voting early means your voice is locked in and safe, days before anyone else can decide what happens next, and it gives you room to fix anything that goes wrong, a signature mismatch, a missing form, waiting in a line that’s too long, or not being able to make it if your shift runs late.”

As I’ve been saying all along, check on your voter status now through a secure site like vote.gov, or you can even go to your county’s board of elections for registration status. Most boards of elections have sample ballots you can study so you aren’t surprised when you get to the polls.
No matter how you are going to vote, make plans to do it as soon as you can.
