Whether it’s a required appearance before Congress or a necessary step in the advise and consent process, there is usually a combination of frustration and amusement hearing how those who live to serve the grifter-in-chief will perform when they know that the White House’s television machines are tuned in to their testimony.
Occasionally, there’s gold in some of the exchanges.
I can’t stop watching this video of Rep. Rashida Tlaib tearing Russell Vought a new one or two.
The Michigan representative was grilling the director of the United States Office of Management and Budget. Vought, of course, is an architect of Project 2025 and one of its key authors.
This is how it’s done.

Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Georgia, was questioning president donald j. felon’s nominee for director of national intelligence Wednesday during the Senate Intelligence Committee confirmation hearing.
Jay Clayton repeatedly refused to answer Ossoff’s question as to who won the 2020 presidential election. He didn’t even offer the usual “Joe Biden was certified” evasion.
It’s been said that one of Ossoff’s remarks to Clayton will rival the rebuke made in 1954 by Army chief counsel Jospeh Welch to commie-hunting Sen. Joseph McCarthy: “Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?”
Every one of the president’s sycophants should be asked how humiliating it must be.

And here’s another great way to question a nominee of the only president to have to pay $5.6 million to someone he raped.
What did happen to you, Todd?
