Bright, Shiny Object Time Again

Sign on a highway saying "Wrong Way."

Well, it’s no longer “whether” there will be distractions.

There are definitely distractions, and it is definitely up to us whether we allow ourselves to be distracted.

In a typical performance at his golf club wide-ranging news conference, convicted felon and adjudicated rapist Donald Trump said Tuesday he was going to use economic pressure to make Canada the 51st state, make “major” pardons in connection with the insurrection at the United States Capitol Building on Jan. 6, 2021, and not rule out military takeovers of Panama and Greenland, CNN reported.

Canada wasted no time responding to Trump’s proposal.

He also criticized Jimmy Carter over the late president’s deal giving the Panama Canal back to Panama, said the U.S. would rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America and accused President Joe Biden of making Trump’s transition “as difficult as possible.”

Good morning and Happy Wednesday to everyone who agrees that trump's bizarre fixation on taking Greenland, the Panama Canal, and Canada by force is all a distraction because he can't deliver his promise to lower prices.Donald is a deluded, demented, dumbass dipshit.

Trump also made mention of some of his greatest hits, such as windmills and low-water appliances.

He also praised Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg for getting rid of Facebook and Instagram fact-checker and said the thought the decision was directly in response to threatening to throw Zuckerberg in jail.

Unrelated to the news conference — maybe — Trump also appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court to prevent him being sentenced for his 34 money-laundering felonies on Friday. He, of course, is arguing through his lawyers that he is fully immune from any prosecution, including sentencing, now that he is soon to be the president again, the New York Times reported.

Never mind the fact the felonies were committed even before he was elected president the first time and could in no way be considered “official acts” of a sitting president.

Buckle up, people. It’s going to be a bumpy four years.

It’s ok to feel sick over the state of things.
